DBE Commitment • Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise is committed to providing business and economic opportunities for Florida’s minority, women and disadvantaged business enterprises by ensuring a level playing field and fostering equal opportunity in DOT-assisted contracts. We are committed to identifying and including DBEs in our procurement process. • The Department of Transportation has an overall eight point one percent (8.1%) race-neutral DBE goal.  This means that the State’s goal is to spend at least 8.1% of the highway dollars with Certified DBE’s as prime Design/Build Firms or as subcontractors.

E8J81- AET Phase 3 • FDOT/FTE will issue a request for proposal (RFP) to solicit competitive bids and proposals for the Design/Build project, which consists of converting the northern section of the Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike (HEFT/SR 821) into an all-electronic toll (AET) facility. • This work will include: • Demolition • Building Modifications • Roadway Improvements • Grading • Drainage • Signing & Pavement Markings

DBE Utilization DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (DBE) UTILIZATION • The State of Florida, Department of Transportation, in accordance with the provision of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252) and the regulations of the Department of Commerce (15 C.F.R., Part 8) issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all firms and individuals that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit proposals in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award. • The Department of Transportation has an overall eight point one percent (8.1%) race-neutral DBE goal.  This means that the State’s goal is to spend at least 8.1% of the highway dollars with Certified DBE’s as prime Design/Build Firms or as subcontractors.
