  5. Relationships Links replace strings = Reduced maintenance URIs = authority Relationship to MARC MARC has provided means for data representation MARC has been a suitable communication format

  6. RDF: Resource Description Framework : The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standard, a simple metadata data model, triples (subject-predicate-object) e.g. The University of Illinois (subject) is located in (predicate) Champaign, Illinois (object).
