Morning Work • Every week the students will complete a “brain teaser” problem solving problem in math folder Homework • Math Folder- Problems of the Day • Homework will be M,T,Th,F and will be opened until close date and Wed. should be “skill” day • But not posted on INow until the following week

Homework • Math homework is not actually assigned within Edmodo.   • Use Edmodo as an additional place to send reminders and let students communicate with him.   • Math assignments would be found in www.successnetplus.com • Username is his firstname.lastname with the 2digit month & 2digit day of his birthdate after his last name.  (Ex. mickey.mouse0713). The password is welcome6

Homework • Once you get to the home page, you'll see the courses.  Digits is named digits 6, even though it encompasses both 5th & 6th grade curriculum.   • Once in the digits course, you see a link called "To Do".  That is where your child’s assignments will be.  He/She has the opportunity to "try again" with any assignment until the due date which is often up until the test.

Homework • The program has tools that help the student solve the problem.   • "Help me solve this" button to the side of each problem.  It takes the student through the problem step by step.   • There are also counters, number lines, and other helpful graphical representations to work with under the "Tools" button next to each problem.  The students also have access to www.mymathuniverse.com which has additional help including videos that explain the topics.  

  11. Grading Policy Tests 65% Projects- 25% • Chapter test- 25% • Quizzes-15% • Daily 35% • Homework-10% • Participation-10% • Class work (morning work etc.)-15%

  22. What is Digits? • New digital curriculum program • For classroom instruction and student assignments. • Offered by Pearson Education, the world’s leading education company. • You can access homework assignments and other materials through Pearson’s online system, SuccessNet .Plus

  23. Getting Started • Go to www.mymathuniverse.com, which is the online student command center for digits. You and your student can log in 24/7 to study, do homework, and most important, you can check on the progress and math mastery of your child.

  28. Technical Error • If you see an error, you can press the “fn” key and press the “prt sc” button above the insert key on your key board and you can save and email the “error screen” to the teacher.
