5. Training & Designs • School designs were prepared by C.B.R.I Roorkee.as per availability of land and sites. • C.B.R.I took measures for earth quake resistance designs. • Training regarding construction work was /is being imparted to… • 1-Three days training to D.P.Os at CBRI campus with illustrative demo. in labs & lab areas. • 2-Five days training to A.Es & J.Es by experts from G.B.Pant University of Agriculture & Technology Pantnagar. • 3-One day training to the concerned VEC members. • 4-On side support to the masons.

6. Implementing Agency &Supervisory Staff. • All type of construction works are undertaken by VEC. • For technical support, one Junior Engineer is deputed at each block and one Assistant Engineer for district.At state level a team of engineers comprising one Executive Engineer with two Junior Engineers are to monitor civil works. • Besides this, a civil work co-ordinator is appointed at state level for better co-ordination among the stake- holders.

7. Third Party Evaluation of Civil Works • G.O.I guidelines • To maintain quality of civil works. • To assure the standard quality of construction material and to obtain independent assessment of the technical quality of civil works. • To motivate and train VECs. • To highlight the problem area and to suggest step/solutions to achieve overall quality assurance. • Periodical supervision of physical progress for completion of works in schedule time frame.

Engaging C.B.R.I. for TPE • For this job MoU was singed with C.B.R.I because of… • 1- National wide reputed institution. • 2- Easy to access. • 3- World class laboratory. • 4- Expertise in the field of technical evaluation and quality assurance of building construction. • 5- Vested with the responsibility of generating, cultivating and promoting building science and technology in the service of the country. 6- Finding timely, appropriate and economical solutions to the problem of materials, efficiency, structural and foundation problems and disaster mitigation.

9. Budgetary Provision • Total No. of 2119 Civil Works to be evaluated. • Total amount to be paid to CBRI Rs. 93.50 lacs. • Amount is released to CBRI on installment basis:- 1-Rupees Twenty Five lakhs + Service Tax. along with acceptance of this MoU. 2-Rupees Twenty Five lakhs + Service Tax after six month and submission of first interim report of schools inspected during the last six months 3-Rupees Twenty Five lakhs + Service Tax. after twelve months and submission of second interim report. 4-Rupees Eighteen lakhs & Fifty Thousands + Service Tax. after eighteen months and submission of final report. The final report will contain all inspections and interim reports.
