  1. What is a DBQ? • Document. Based. Question. • Many AP history and government exams feature a DBQ (yes, I know this isn’t an AP class, but its still so important to practice college-level skills) • With a DBQ you will be asked to analyze ~7 to10 primary sources (maybe some secondary sources) • Look for common themes/main points amongst the documents • Try to walk away from reading the documents with 3 to 4 main arguments/points/themes that support an answer to the question • These 3 main arguments will become your 3-part thesis statement
