  1. Gas engine Michael Howard

  2. What is a gas engine The gas engine is a powered machine that changes the forces on a cars wheels causing it to move. The most common size engines are the302, 305, v8,v6,357, 494, 945, v12. the sizes before tell how much power the engine has. Also the size of the engine helps determine the gas mileage- gas mileage is how many miles that the car gets to each gallon of gas that the car will have.

  3. How it works To start the process first the engine needs to be started using an electric spark to ignite the gas. Once this happens the ignited gas is in an combustion chamber. The pressure builds up and then cylinders begin to move. Once the cylinders move they help make other parts move such as alternators, fan belt systems and etc

  4. Early uses Many early uses of the gas engine was, small cars, early factory conveyors, Early motors were single or two cylindered motors.( single or two stroke)

  5. Modern uses Many of the modern uses are in things such as cars, boats, trains, lawnmowers, weed eaters, chainsaws and other lawn tools.
