UCN 2014 Installation: Schedule 2 • UCN 2014 Installation folded into Shutdown Schedule • New schedule release today (SAS Committee) • UCN SASP0184,185,186,187  Start: January 2 ; Finish: ~ April 10 • Shield-Plug reconfiguration: starts in mid-March • Work Requests (10) submitted; Not all approved yet. • Lift Plan (Jason), Alignment Plan (Dave P.), Dose Analysis (Cam  RPG) • CNSC Approval of Shield Plug (“in the mail”  “OK to proceed”  Anne/Jeff)

UCN 2014 Installation: Personnel 3 • .T-B/L (Beamlines) • Installation/Alignment of B/L Components • Consultation w/ TRIUMF Alignment Group (D.Preddy, B.Gasbarri, M.Vogel) • D.Pearce hired on contract  direct UCN alignment efforts • Hexagon Metrology Engineer (R.Molari) services contract  advisory •  tracker specialist • .T-Mech (Mechanical) • General removal/assembly of components • M.Goyette hired on contract • T.Hessels(UCN Designer & .T-Mech)  ~ 50% (?) • Require 1 more .T-Mech(TRIUMF)  50% • Crane Crew • At start of shutdown (Jan.2 – 17)  remove/excavate shielding blocks • Intermittent (Jan.21 – Mar.26)  removal/placing of components • Near end of shutdown (Mar.27 – Apr.10)  restoring shielding+plug • Others • Contractors: Plumbing (Lockerbie), Electrical (Entech), Coring (West Coast) • Safety/RPG, Engineering (Civil, Electrical), Plant Group  Intermittent • Diagnostics & Controls  1AM5 (best efforts)

UCN 2014 Installation: Alignment Plan 4 • Alignment Plan & Logistics • Plan being developed in consultation w/ Alignment group & D.Pearce • Purchase Order for laser-tracker rental from Hexagon Metrology • Alignment Plan Overview • Fiducialize magnets, frames & other B/L components w/ Laser Tracker • - Shoot array of points (upstream/downstream) on each component • Shoot Vault & 1A monuments w/ Laser Tracker & establish coord. system • Lay down grid of new monuments (Vault & 1A tunnel) & record • - Number/Locations of new monuments (consult Bruno/Mike) • Paint floor and/or lay down scribe lines • Mark drill location (and angle) on Immovable-block for coring • Install/Locate frames (Theodolite or Laser Tracker) • Install/Align magnets/components according to schedule • - Use Laser Tracker to position fiducializedpoints

  5. Meson Hall Clean-up 5 • M11 Cleanup Completed • Staging area for new Shielding • M13 Cleanup Completed • Staging area for “removed” blocks • Some blocks already moved to M13 • Jason’s layout for temp. block storage • “Boot-box” area for 1A access  M13 • Cleanup above BL1A/1B • Almost completed (thanks to Ron K.) • 46 items removed; ~11 items left to move (this week & after beam OFF) • Catalogue of items removed: •  https://ucn.triumf.ca/triumf/beamline/Catalog-MH-cleanup.pdf • Extra Blocks (6’ and smaller)  stage to M13 “monolith”
