  1. Creating expressive work using line, shape, form, value, and colorKokouDanhounsrou Students will learn how to create the illusion of texture using lines, dots, and shapes. This will integrate a previous lesson on rendering variations of lightness and darkness in drawing.

  2. Life skills • Thinking & Reasoning Students will be taught how to brainstorm which will help them create visual art.

  3. Time frame • This subject will be studies in 10 class period, each approximately 45 minutes. During this period students will learn how to connect line, shape, color, shading , to create living art.

  4. Indented learning outcomes • By the end of this topic Students should be able to render an animal in one or more of the pen and ink techniques, paying attention to light and shade.

  5. Material needed • Objects you can pull 'rubbings' off, (Bark, sandpaper, cloth, bottom of shoes, brick) • Graphite pencils • Paper • Ink pens • Overhead projector • Paintings with 'real texture‘ • Paintings with 'implied texture'

  6. Instructional procedures • Show • Discuss • Instructs

  7. Final Project • The final project will be for the students to render an animal in pen and ink using one of the techniques discussed in this lesson.
