Key Issues • Barnett Review of Role of Invest NI • Northern Ireland Enterprise Strategy • Review of the role of LEAs • Break Clause in existing Contracts in 2011 • Budget allocation across 11 new Councils – Total £8.38m (reduced from £10.1m) • EU Match Funding • Governance and Accountability Arrangements

  4. Issues to be resolved-Small Business Support Programme • Consistency v Local Needs • New Contracts coincide with Creation of new Councils • Monitoring and single MIS system - how will this be coordinated?

  5. Issues to be resolved-Go for It Campaign • Budget Transferring - £1m • Consistency of branding across Councils • How will the PR Contract be managed?

  6. Issues to be resolved-Enterprise Week • How will this be delivered consistently? • Will budgets be included in the broader programme and left to each Council to decide?

  7. Impact on LEAs –An opportunity or threat? • Local Council will the a key partner in the future for programme funding • Community Planning – major opportunity • Need for coherent LED Strategies with key partners • Potential to be the delivery agent for Council LED strategies • Most definitely an opportunity

  8. What should we being doing now? • Choice lies with each LEA • Property Manager/Social Enterprise/Programme Deliverer? • New Councils will expect some merging and rationalisation • Plan ahead – begin discussions with TMTs now. • Don’t forget the customer!
