  3. Kiwanis International Purpose: To improve lives through fellowship in service worldwide. DefiningKiwanis is a global organization of volunteers Statement dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

  4. Kiwanis • Founded in 1915 • 8,400 Kiwanis clubs in 96 countries • Motto: “Serving the Children of the World” • The organization’s International Office is in Indianapolis, Indiana. • 100th Anniversary in 2015 will be celebrated with 1 Million members!

  8. Organization Structure Kiwanis International is the worldwide organization to which each Kiwanis club and member belongs. It is administered by the Kiwanis International Board of Trustees. Our District is 1 of 48 districts in Kiwanis International. Our Division is 1 of 23 divisions in the district. Our Club is 1 of 9 clubs in our division. (Division 18)

  13. Club Administration • Our club membership votes on: • Election of club officers and directors • Amendments to club bylaws • The Board of Directors • Determines club policies • Approves club projects • Approves and controls club budget • Manages the club

  14. Board of Directors Meeting Provides an opportunity to be involved in the decisions affecting club administration. Day: First Tuesday of each Month Time: 1 p.m.(following club meeting) Location: Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon

  17. Club Fees • How My Fees Are Spent • Club Dues: $ 43.00 • District Dues: $ 20.00 • Kiwanis International Dues: $ 62.00 • Total Annual Dues: $125.00 • First Year Dues: $180.00 • ($55 goes to set up the membership with KI)

  19. Conventions TheAnnual Kiwanis International Conventionis an excellent event, which allows clubs from around the world to exchange ideas, participate in forums, and share fellowship. TheDistrict Conventionis the kickoff for the new Kiwanis year, which runs from October to September. Club officers and interested members attend. TheDistrict Midyear Conference(aka Mid-Winter Conference)gives members an opportunity to attend classes and forums about club operation and other exciting topics.
