  3. What is BarCamp? Wikipedia: BarCamp is an international network of user generated conferences — open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants — often focusing on early-stage web applications, and related open source technologies, social protocols, and open data formats.

BarCamp is global, self-organizing, effective • There have been well over 400 Barcamps on all continents (minus Antarctica) over the past 2.5 years. • Topics range from technology to cooking to government services flavored (transitcamp). •  An average of 75 people show up for any given Barcamp. • 30,000+ around the world have been at a Barcamp at some point or other
