CRS and the Global Fund • 32 projects in 22 countries, worth more than $93 million to date. • Currently PR in 3 countries; named PR in 3 countries under Round 10. • SR for 28 projects to date. • Meets with GF 2-3 times a year and attends regional GF meetings as well. • Member of consultative group to the Global Fund Board of Directors, advising the Northern NGO Board member/delegation. • Leads Civil Society Principal Recipient Network, a group of implementers officially recognized by the Global Fund.

  3. Guinea Proposal Development - background • CRS leads malaria consortium of international agencies in Guinea • Round 6 malaria grant ongoing – MOH PR • Round 9 proposal not approved; revised and resubmitted for Round 10 • Political instability resulted in a vacuum at the Ministry

  8. Successful strategies • Develop key working relationships beforehand • Plan early, start early: have a roadmap • Ensure sufficient staff availability and organize your team • Offer in-kind support: workspace, an intern, document review, etc.
