  • Food -

    Canned - meats, fruits, vegetables, juices, soup, milk

    Staples - sugar, salt, pepper

    High Energy Foods - peanut butter, jelly, crackers, granola bars, trail mix

    • Build relationships pre-event.

    • Provide ministry post-event.

  • Update your Family Disaster Plan regularly.

  • Storage of your Family Disaster Kit.

    Keep in a dry, cool place.

    Keep covered at all times.

    Keep opened items in plastic bags or screw-top jars.

    Inspect food for spoilage before use.

    Use foods before they spoil or are out of date.

    Rotate food

  • Sheltering your family.

    Use your home if possible.

    Evacuate the area if possible. (Plan your routes).

    Stay with family or neighbors.

    Use a shelter sponsored by ARC or your church.

    Use camper or the tent in your Family Disaster Kit.

    If necessary use your van or automobile.
