Options will depend on the institutions and 14-19 Networks in local areas • Staying in education • at the 6th form in your school • going to a 6th form at another school • going to a 6th form College • Going to work • apply to a training provider • apply for an Apprenticeship • apply for a job without training Going to a College of Further Education

  5. What should Ilan do?Ilan wants to be a carpenter. For work experience, Ilan worked with a large construction company and got a good report. Ilan is working hard at school and is aiming to get 4/5 GCSEs grades A-C including English & Maths. What are Ilan’s options? • Apply for a carpentry apprenticeship • Apply to college/ sixth form to do AS levels • Apply to college to do a Carpentry course LMI fact - Starting salaries are between £13,500 and £16,000. Qualified joiners can earn between £17,000 and £23,000 a year

Alex is not enjoying school and isn’t considering University. Alex expects to get grades D/E at GCSE. Robin is expected to achieve 4 Cs at GCSEs What are Robin’s options? • Apply to college to do a vocational or public services course • Apply to sixth form/ college to do AS levels • Apply to do an emergency services related apprenticeship LMI fact - To be a policeman you must be a British citizen, a citizen of the Commonwealth, EU or other EEA country, or a foreign national with indefinite leave to remain in the UK
