Where did washington start what s happening now how do we sustain progress
Where did Washington start, what’s happening now, how do we sustain progress?

  • Started at square one: In thinking about what people rely on us to support, stakeholders identified what is important to all of us…

A Valued Life – Six Benefits we sustain progress?

  • Health and Safety

  • Power and Choice

  • Status and Respect

  • Integration

  • Relationships

  • Competence

  • What’s work got to do we sustain progress?with those values? It is the easiest, most cost effective way to achieve each of the six benefits – for all of us.

Where are we now? The AFP Challenge is double the number working in individual jobs. This illustrates that how you count matters….

    • WA employment and day support to 7,989 people age 21 and older in April, 2011:

    • 7,989 receiving support: 2,639 report wages in individual integrated jobs

= 33% in individual integrated jobs

    • Of 7,989 people, 3,984 receive Individual Employment Support. Same 2,639 report wages.

= 66% in individual integrated jobs.

    • Which percentage is accurate? 33% or 66% ? Both? Neither? Good discussion point. Any way you count it, not nearly enough people are working and earning a living wage.

What s the big picture data from rda state employment security department
