  2. What is National Citizenship Service The ‘NCS’ is a fun and challenging personal and social development programme, which will help participants to become confident and socially active young adults.

  3. Who’s it for? • Year 11 & 12 students who have reached their 16th Birthday by 31st August 2013 (Young people with a disability may be older) • For young people who live or go to school in Three Rivers • For young people who will benefit the most from this type of experience • For young people who want to have something special to put on application forms or on a UCAS personal statement.

  4. What’s in it for you? • Have fun • Make new friends • Meet inspirational athletes • Gain new skills and discover your talent • Improve your confidence and self-esteem • Expand your horizons • Make a difference!

What can you expect from us? • We will provide experienced staff to support you • Fun, engaging training • Access to inspirational sporting heroes • City & Guilds Qualification • Certificates to recognise your achievements • Your CV developed with help from top employers • Graduation ceremony to celebrate your success!

  6. What will you do? • 2 action packed residentials • Plan and deliver an exciting community action project • Make a difference in your community • Raise the profile of the brilliant stuff that young people get up to!

Dates • Phase One: Weekly Group Meeting / Induction Days • Phase Two: Five Day Activity Residential - 15th July to 19th July • Phase Three: Five Day Local Residential - 22nd July to 26th July • Phase Four: One week (non residential) - 29th July to 2nd August • Phase Five: 30 hour Social Action Project - 5th August to 9th August • Celebration Event – Autumn 2013

A bit more detail • • Phase One: Induction • Young people will meet their team, and complete a personal • development plan. • • Phase Two: Five Day Activity Residential • A week packed full of team-building, problem-solving and challenging outdoor activities at a residential centre in Green Park, Buckinghamshire. • • Phase Three: Five Day Local Residential • A week spent at Hudnall Park, Hertfordshire, planning a community project, developing skills and meeting with inspirational people and organisations, • • Phase Four: One week Full-time (non residential) • Time spent planning a social action project for your area. • Phase Five: 1 week max • Delivery of a 30 hour social action project for the benefit of the local community.

  10. The cost for participating is absolutely FREE We will require a £50 deposit which will be immediately refunded after the successful completion of the project! How much will it cost?
