(There will be another release in December). • RMS granted after lengthy discussion and new requirement to have number of hours allowed in granted exceptions to the SLA included in the IT Incident reporting.

  4. RMS Update to TAC • At the May TAC Meeting, RMS Reported the Creation of Market Impact Assessment Task Force • Purpose: Assess and quantify impacts to Market Participants and End-use Consumers from ERCOT service degradation issues in March. • Scope: Create a thorough report on the cause, severity and impacts. • Product: Formal report to RMS inclusive of definition of opportunities to mitigate market impact through refinement of SLA and inclusion of Market Impacts in the ERCOT Incident Log. • Update TAC of findings in June if complete. http://www.ercot.com/content/meetings/rms/keydocs/2008/0709/06._Market_Impact_Assessment_TF.ppt#14

  5. Summary of the Summary • On March 12th, 2008 and again from March 18th through 20th, 2008 various CRs saw an unusually large number of MVI and MVO transactions scootched by the TDSPs • During the period market participants experienced greater than normal performance issues with MarkeTrak, TML, Data Extracts, and Reporting • Upon review of available data it was discovered that transactions were taking significantly longer to process through ERCOT to the TDSPs once the transactions were delivered by the CRs (Mean processing time increased by 100%, Maximum processing time increased by 500%) • Market Impact Assessment Task Force formed to gain greater understanding of what happened at ERCOT and to assess impacts to all market segments

This is the architecture that allows the storage to be in a remote location but appear to be local from the application server side. The Switches direct the traffic. If the switch goes down, and there is not a dual path (kind of like a failover), the applications cannot write to tape/disk and will typically crash resulting in some of the outages we saw in March. Period 2: March 12, 2008 to March 21, 2008

  10. Next Steps • Additional Data to be added to the ERCOT Outage Incidents Log • Per Outage, an additional tab will be added to show the ERCOT Performance Metrics for that day • In the Market Impact Column of the Log the total out of protocol for the SWI, MVI, PMVI, and MVO processes will be displayed • Input in SLA changes/updates via TDTWG • Further steps to be determined by Market Participants as appropriate

  11. RMS Update to TAC • Advanced Metering Implementation Team • Technical Approach Discussions • Central Repository or Multiple TDU Locations • Contingent upon Long term direction TBD • Web Portal Host(s) • Business Requirements and Use Cases have been Defined • Interim and Long term considerations • Interim solution to support 15 minute settlement • Long term consideration RFP out for bid • Use Case and Task Assignments • Customer Education Workshop • ERCOT Settlement Discussions • Home Automation Network • Market Transaction Processing Meeting September 3
