  1. Welcome! Overview:This training is the first in a series of trainings to get you prepared and qualified to respond in an emergency. This orientation course is not intended to be inclusive of everything you need to know, but it is designed to introduce you to the subject and your responsibility as a county employee during an emergency. Next San Luis Obispo County is a safe, healthy, livable, prosperous, and well-governed community.

  2. Instructions: This course is divided into six video segments ranging from two to twelve minutes in length. You may complete the segments in one sitting or as time allows. A ten question quiz (Section 8) is provided at the end of this course to test your knowledge of the subject matter. Quiz results are not recorded, so you must therefore print the certificate and either email it to phep@co.slo.ca.us or fax it to 788-2715. Required Training (Section 7)A link to the required Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) training are included in Section 7. Please make a note of this link (or bookmark in your browser); The FEMA courses must be completed within 30 days of your hire date. Back Next
