  1. Preparing the Sand-Humus Mixture for 2 Crab Habitats Add one 5 lb (2.25 kg) bag plus one cupful of sand to the habitat. Add one 270 ml (9 oz) cup of humus. Mix evenly. Add 2 ¼ oz of water to the sand-humus mixture and mix well.

  2. Preparing the Salt Water Fill the 1.9 liter pail ¾ full of water. Add a drop of tap water conditioner to the pail. Add two pinches of Instant Ocean to the pail. Stir the pail and cover it with a lid.

  3. What We Would Like to Know About Our Crabs In your science notebooks, brainstorm a list of things you would like to know about the crabs in our classroom.
