  2. Currently each year on average ~750 experiments are carried out involving ~1500 visitors who make a total of ~4500 visits . These numbers include roughly ~100 experiments and ~300 visits for muons. MICE is ~10% level so we should not perturb the system

  3. Facility Users at RAL • Notification of Arrival • Accommodation, Transport booking • Registration with User Office • Safety Induction • Expenses claims Basic – gets you on site This is generally for UK funded people, but could be used to access common fund if needed

  6. Accommodation booking • Accommodation Options • Ridgeway House – on site • The Cosener’s House – Abingdon • Bed and Breakfast • MICE house -- tbd CMPB issue – Risk UO would manage property Charges would be pro-rata for period of occupation Risk is cost of an unoccupied house and people

  8. Transport • Taxis can be arranged through the User Office include arrival requirements with the Accommodation request RAL Travel Office can assist with flight bookings and changes etc. Issue of payment not yet clear Usually travel from UK and return or travel within UK

  9. STFC has hire car agreements which could be advantageous to MICE. e.g. MICE van? Need to register driving details with transport to be able to access : “RAL Driving licence”. may need some more investigation (insurance aspects?)

  11. Arrival at RAL Registration Information Required • Visit Reference • Personal Information • Name, Organisation Address, Date of Birth, Nationality, Gender • Next of Kin • Name, Address, Telephone number • Medical conditions relevant to working at RAL and with Ionising Radiation MICE
