  2. What is Identity Theft? • Acrime in which a criminal obtains key pieces of personal information, such as Social Security or driver's license numbers, in order to pose as someone else.

  3. Classification of Indentity Theft There are two main types of identity theft: • Account takeover A situation where the criminal get the victim information to access to the existed account. • True name theft A situation where the criminal uses the victim identity for their own benefits.

  4. Ways to Prevent • Keeps an eye on things like your ID card or other documents which posses your private data

  5. Never deal with payment unless the website has secure socket layer protection which is “https

  6. Don’t keep all of your identification and financial information in one place

  7. Never write down your PIN number

  8. Never respond to emails or phone calls that requests personal information
