  7. Estimate pH & pOH from [H+] or [OH-] If the number out front is 1, that means if you change the sign of the power of 10, that will equal the pH or pOH IF# OUT FRONT IS NOT = 1 1. Move the decimal of the # out front one to the left. 2. Change the sign of the power of 10. 3. Subtract the # out front from the sign-changed power of 10. This will be the pH or pOH EXAMPLES:

  8. Estimate [H+] or [OH-] from pH or pOH 1. POWER OF 10 Round pH or pOH to the next largest whole number & change its sign. This will be the power of 10. 2.NUMBER OUT FRONT Subtract the given pH or pOH from its next largest whole # Move the decimal for your answer one place to the right, which will be the number out front. EXAMPLES:
