  1. A Halloween Activity Story Created by: Valerie Herskowitz, MA CCC-SLP valerieherskowitz.com

  2. Every year, on October 31st, we celebrate a holiday called Halloween. There are many fun activities that we can do on this day. Below are some pictures that are connected to Halloween. See if you know what the names of these items are or point to the picture when I say the name.

  3. Every Halloween, children like to dress up in different costumes. Here are some costume ideas. Can you name these pictures or point to the one that I say? What are you going to be this Halloween?

  4. When it gets dark, it is time to go out and to Trick or Treat: *First we put on our costume. *Then we get a container or bag for the candy. *Now it’s time to go outside and visit our neighbors.

  5. When you get to the house, you must ring the bell or knock on the door. When someone answers the door, you say, Trick or Treat.

  6. Let’s practice saying, “Trick or Treat.” Make sure you say it loud enough for the person to hear, but don’t yell. If you do not speak, here is a picture that you can give to them. (print and cut out)

  7. Once you have said, Trick or Treat, it’s time for them to give you the treat. Let’s use our best manners. If someone gives you some candy for your bag, what is the correct thing to do? • Grab the candy and walk away. • Ask if you can have more. • Take the candy and say, “thank you.”

  8. The correct answer is: c. Take the candy and say,

  9. After we are finished Trick or Treating, it’s time to go home. Ask you mom or dad if you can have one treat. Put the rest of the candy away for another day.

  10. Halloween is over until next year. It’s time to put away our costume and put on our pajamas. It’s time to go to bed. What a fun day!
