  3. HIGH SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS

  5. D and F grades • Considered a subject omission for college entrance • Courses need to be retaken • Both grades will appear on transcript • There are exceptions…have your child see their counselor for details about course validation in Math and Foreign Language

SUMMER SCHOOLFor remediation of D/F Grades • 1 session = 1 semester of class time except math classes. • Math classes are the full 5 weeks.  5 weeks = 1 semester class • No advance credit given except Gov/Econ Requirements • Classes meet Monday – Friday from 7:45 am to 12:00 pm • Attendance is MANDATORY • THERE ARE NO EXCUSED ABSENCES IN SUMMMER SCHOOL • One full day absence per session is allowed. Students will be dropped on the second full day absence in a session. NO EXCEPTIONS!

CPG Pg.145 ROPSouth Coast Regional Occupational Program • Why is it valuable? • Enriches college application, pending on potential majors (i.e., EMT/EMR for Pre-Med or Nursing) • Internship opportunities/Hands-on experience • Could potentially land a job right out of high school • Certification opportunities • Requirements • Student must be 16 years of age (during the school year) • Transportation • Students are to sign up with Mrs. Hunnicutt • (priority given to seniors)
