  1. Christ Scene Investigation

  2. After Jesus’ death.. • It was the start of the Sabbath – no work could be done once it began. • His body was quickly taken down from the cross and placed in the tomb of a priest called Joseph of Arimathea After that something strange happens.

  3. Ok Grissom. What have we got? Not much Catherine. That’s the problem. A body has gone missing. We’ve been asked to find out what happened. Both the Romans and the Jewish authorities are terrified of the effect this news might have on people. A crime has been committed. That’s all I care about.

  4. First things first guys. Let’s talk about the missing body. Apparently it was of a man named Jesus who was crucified for blasphemy 3 days ago! Man, that’s nasty! Hey! Any chance Jesus wasn’t actually dead? That’s unlikely Nick. The Romans were masters when it came to torturing and killing people. They’d have made sure Jesus was dead. Nice try though!

  5. Thanks Doc. Anyway…a huge stone was rolled across the doorway of Jesus’ tomb. That thing must’ve weighed about two tonnes! That makes it impossible for someone to have moved it on their own.

  6. There were also Roman guards employed to guard the tomb and ensure no one would steal the body. Why would anybody want to steal the body of Jesus? What would be the point?

  7. Well, I’m officially confused! Check out my photos of inside the tomb. The grave clothes haven’t been ripped at all. It looks like the body simply disappeared into thin air! How is that even possible? PHOTO #114 W.BROWN EVIDENCE

  8. You guys aren’t gonna believe this either! I’ve finished interviewing all the key witnesses and suspects and their stories are pretty weird. You remember the followers of Jesus? Well they deserted him at his death but are now claiming that he’s alive again!

  9. These guys were miserable, disillusioned and frightened before …but now they’re acting confident and happy. When I questioned them they even said they were willing to die for what they believe is true. They sounded pretty convinced to me! It’s getting late Jim. Why don’t we head back to the lab and sort out those witness statements?

  10. Your task • Your task is to investigate what happened to the body after Jesus was crucified. • You will use the evidence found in the booklet to come to your own conclusion about what happened to the body.

  11. CSI: Jerusalem – Crime Brief A crime has been committed. A body has gone missing. After the crucifixion Jesus’ body was wrapped in linen and placed in a tomb. A huge stone (probably weighing about two tonnes) was rolled across the doorway to the tomb. However, thirty-six hours later when Jesus’ friends came to the tomb they found the body missing. Both the Roman and Jewish authorities are terrified of the effect this news might have on people. Jesus’ followers are claiming the most amazing things for their dead leader. You have been employed to investigate this mysterious disappearance Your task is to solve the crime, find out what has happened to the body and explain the Christian opinion on what happened

  12. To Do. • Finish off your report into what you think happened. • With your partner design a front page newspaper article on your decision. Think about layout, picture, information, evidence, witnesses.
