  1. A Quick Guide To Babies Crawling Parents are very close to their children and the strong bond they share makes it the magical relationship in the world. Would be parents generally feel anxious about their new roles. Nowadays there are numerous books that offer guidance in this regard. After the birth, parents always ponder upon a thousand questions, like when do babies start crawling, when will the baby stand up on its own, when will the child speak his/her first words etc. Experiencing the first crawling motion of one’s little one brings inexplicable joy because it is the first time that he/she starts moving without any support. This form of independent locomotion will eventually lead to standing up straight, walking and then running. Most babies begin crawling in the first year of their birth; some can begin crawling when they are six months old while others might start a bit later. There are kids who don’t crawl at all and instead move towards standing and then walking. Kinds of crawling activity Crawling is a motion which is done differently by different babies, well known crawling activity observed among babies includes: Classic style of crawling where the baby uses an arm and the leg on the opposite side simultaneously for moving forward. Some babies like scooting which involves sliding the bottom on the floor while moving. Babies can also bend one knee and extend the other knee for movement. Sometimes babies do not use the legs at all and instead only use their arms to propel themselves forward in a commando style. Crawling in a reverse direction is also done by many kids. Benefits of crawling motion Crawling indicates that the baby is ready for independent movement. There are various benefits of this kind of movement. A few important ones are given below:

  2. As the baby starts this form of locomotion, the baby’s mind actively observes the surroundings which also include discovering places in the house on its own. The crawling motion is a good form of exercise for the baby as usually all the limbs are used for making movement. Crawling develops body balance for the little one because the baby has to support its weight while crawling. Touching and perceiving things while touring the area on all fours is an engaging journey for the baby because it starts feeling and understanding the objects that it encounters. They learn how to navigate in a known space which further develops their memory. Precautions to be taken by parents While taking care of a child, the parents will be able to perceive that their little kid is ready crawl. The rolling over of the baby and its attempt to balance its weight while it has rolled over are indications that it is ready to start locomotion. In that case, care should be taken that the delicate palms and knees of the baby are not dragged across rough surfaces. Investing in a carpet cover is sensible when the baby starts crawling. The floor shouldn’t be rough and should be devoid of splinters and nails.
