Chinese-English Interpreting: ex. 16-5 • 第一,以规则和法制为基础的世贸组织有几个基本的规则,如最惠国待遇、国民待遇、市场开放、公平竞争和透明度等原则。 • Based on rules and regulations, WTO follows a number of principles, including the MFN treatment, the national treatment, the market access, the fair competition and the transparency principles etc.

  20. Chinese-English Interpreting: ex. 16-5 • 为执行这些原则,首先政府的管理方式要转变,也就是,要依法行政、依规行政。 • In order to follow these principles, the Chinese government will firstly change its way of administration, i.e. administration according to law and rules.

Chinese-English Interpreting: ex. 16-5 • 第二,对企业而言也是很大的挑战。企业过去主要面对的是来自国内的竞争,加入世贸组织以后,要同时面临来自国内和国外的企业,而且是平等条件下的竞争 • Second, it is a significant challenge to Chinese enterprises which used to compete with their domestic counterparts. After China’s entry to the WTO, they will face competition from both domestic and foreign enterprises, and on an equal footing.
