Business Goals for the RIO Upgrade Project • The Retirement Information Online System is PERA’s vital retirement pension administration system. • The objective of the RIO upgrade project is to refresh all servers and to upgrade third party software for the mission critical pension administration system Retirement Information Online (RIO). For FY14 PERA received $2.8 million for this project. • The upgrade ties to State IT goal: Implement And Maintain A High Quality Technology Infrastructure To Serve Resident And Government Clients. • The upgrade ties to the Agency Mission: To preserve, protect and administer the trust to meet its current and future obligations and provide quality services to association members. • The upgrade ties to the Agency IT Plan: Reduce overall risk to PERA by increasing the quality and reliability of our pension administration system infrastructure.

ProjectBudget • For FY14 PERA requested $2.8 million from Other State Funds for the RIO upgrade. • $1,050,000 was used to refresh hardware and storage. • $696,200 was used to purchase third party software and support. • $687,143 will be used for contractual services with Hewlett Packard • $158,000 will be used for contractual services with Softech & Associates • $23, 500 will be used for contractual services for IV&V with POD

Project Deliverables Completed • PERA refreshed 46 servers and storage in the Production, User Acceptance Testing and Disaster Recovery environments. • PERA installed Microsoft Windows Server 2012 on the new servers. • PERA and HP installed IBM Websphere 8.5, GECS 4.22 batch software and Hyperian SQR 11.1 on the test environments. • PERA and HP installed same software on the Production and Disaster Recovery environments. • PERA has installed Kofax 10, and started the FileNET Image migration to P8 in the UAT systems. • PERA is currently regression testing with this new third party software.

  5. Project Deliverables Remaining • Install Microsoft SQL 2012 and Filenet P8 in the User Acceptance Testing environment. • Install Microsoft SQL 2012 and Filenet P8 on the new Production servers. • Regression test new code with this third party software. • Convert images from the legacy Filenet Image Services system to the new Filenet P8 imaging system. • Deploy new code to the new Production servers. • Train on administration of third party software and code deployments.
