State Energy ProgramPiedmont Food and Agricultural Processing Center • Hillsborough processing and storage facility helps farmers trim travel costs • Promotes local agricultural economy and local food sustainability • Using Orange County site provides potential annual savings of 99,900 gallons of fuel, $400,000 in fuel costs, 499,500 truck miles, 499,500 pounds of CO2

Utility Savings Initiative State Owned Buildings: Total annual energy avoided costs: $ 328 million Total annual water avoided costs : $ 89 million Total annual utility avoided costs : $ 417 million Avoided Costs 2010-11: $ 83 million Avoided Costs since 2002-03: $ 417 million The $417 million was realized from an investment of approximately $11.5 million in state appropriated funds.
