Adobe Illustrator • Over Years Adobe Illustrator has become the standard application when it comes to illustration design. • Artists, Illustrators and graphic designers use illustrator to create vector-based graphics which contrary to raster-based editors such as adobe Photoshop can be easily rescaled without the loss of quality • Adobe illustrator is basicly a program you can get to make pictures more fun, make games, do whatever you want to images, and rescale them without a loss of quality. • Illustrator will cost you 29 dollars per month if you buy it per year, if you do it monthly you will pay 45 bucks. And is still in use today. • The AI file format was originally a native format called PGF. And it was created in 1996 .

Microsoft Publisher! • Use improved picture-editing tools including the ability to pan, zoom, and crop your images and picture placeholders that make it a snap to replace images while preserving the layout of your page. Easily fine-tune every picture to help your publication look its absolute best. • Its price with the best edition of it would be about 80 dollars. Not to bad considering what it does. It is still the basic program for Publishing Pictures. • Its native file format is .pub and it was created in 2003

Microsoft Word • History • Microsoft Word is a word processor designed by Microsoft, and was made and released in 1983 which was first named “Multi-Tool Word”. • Microsoft Word was the first program to be distributed on-disk with a magazine showing how to and how it is used. • Microsoft word was designed to be used with a mouse, and it was able to display formatting such as bold, italic, and underlined text.

Microsoft Word • History • When Microsoft word was first published it was not initially popular, since its user interface was different from the leading word processor at the tine, “WordStar” but later became improved by releasing updated versions of it. • Relevant • Almost everyone everywhere uses Microsoft Word. For example, students attending school, big/small business, people weighting letters ect.

Microsoft word • Cost • Most computers actually come with Microsoft office installed in the computer, but if not then you can buy Microsoft office for $119.99 for a computer or you can get a free version. • Free Alternative • OpenOffice.org , AbiWord, Jarte, IBM Lotus Symphony are just a few alternatives to buying Microsoft word. • File Format • When you save on Microsoft word it will save as … “example.doc”

Corel Draw • What is Corel Draw? • Corel draw is a vector graphics editor developed and marketed by Corel Corporations of Ottawa, Canada. • History • In 1987 Corel hired software engineers Michel Bouillon and Pat Beirne to develop vector-based illustration programs. • Corel Draw was initially released in 1989, and ran under Windows 2. x and 3.0.

  9. Corel Draw • Relevant • Not many people use Corel Draw, and its been out for 20 years. Only the people that have used Corel Draw for a while are the only people who use it. • Cost • The newest version of Corel Draw is about $200 • Free Alternatives • InkScape, DrawPlus, Creative Docs, ect. There are many different free alternatives, but most work the same way as Corel Draw.
