  3. 1st Priority!! • All cheerleaders need to be passing 5 classes per IHSA • Schwartz’s Rule: Need to be receiving a C or higher to participate Academics 3

  4. Summer Practices are NOT mandatory until August 8th (but just as important) • Attendance at all practices, games, competitions, fundraisers, and community events is MANDATORY Attendance 4

  5. 1, 2, 3 OUT rule (work, vacation, doctor’s appt’s are not excused) • No school=no practice/game • Illness: Responsibility of cheerleader (text or email coach) PRIOR to practice/game Attendance (cont’d) 5

  6. JV and Varsity MAY have practice before Thanksgiving and during the Winter Break! Holidays 6

  7. *No Jewelry including Earrings and Belly Button Rings *No GUM *No Nail Polish (or fake nails) *Proper uniform and absolutely NO street clothes including Boots/Slippers *If you’re wearing the uniform, you’re wearing cheer shoes... Attire-For games/practice 7

  8. Closed and Mandatory • Proper Attire: Shirt, shorts, bow, cheer shoes • All hair is up (no wispies) • Bring a water bottle! Practices 8

  9. Proper Uniform: Cheerleading uniform, spankies, cheer shoes, no show socks, hair bow, game face • NO Jewelry, gum • Cheerleaders MUST take the bus home • Home games are at Milennium Field (Streamwood HS): No bus will be provided • If you are sitting out, you will wear your warm-ups (for Football) Games 9

  10. Good work ethic and ability to learn and grow • Respect is a MUST. • Negative behavior on and off the mat could result in suspension or dismissal (at coaches’ discretion) • The same is true for PARENTS Attitude 10

  11. If your daughter is sick, they must contact the coach by 1:00pm. • Coaches will try and email once a week, but the CHEERLEADER is responsible for passing on info to parents • All parent concerns should be directed to the Head Coach • FACEBOOK--MONITOR or DELETE Communication 11

  12. Cheerleaders must have a current physical and registration in by AUGUST 8th (Athletic Office) • Bartlett and IHSA’s code of conducts will be strictly enforced • All bills must be paid on time. • Any drug/alcohol/arrest will be dealt with through the IHSA and Athletic Director Expectations 12

  13. Expenses Each cheerleader should have their OWN spreadsheet. Please follow the payment plan and notify Schwartz if you need to make your own. *No Refunds unless cheerleader does not do competition season 13

  14. Required starting the 1st week of school • Family choice, but I will check! • DuPage Cheer and Power Tumbling is recommended Tumbling 14

  15. Important for team bonding, learning cheers, practicing stunts • Homecoming Choreography July 10-12 • Vacations are OK, but excessive absences may result in meeting Summer Schedule 15

What do the Cheer Boosters do? • Support the cheer squads \o / • Fundraising with cheerleaders • Support the coaches • Support activities which reinforce teamwork and commitment and service • We need parent participation • You’ll be scheduled to work the 50/50 raffle at one game per season and we request that you participate at one other event during the season BHS Cheer Boosters 19

What are we planning for 2012-2013 ? • Sponsorship – each cheerleader encouraged to obtain one sponsor . • Car Washes – 2 per year – each cheerleader required to sell 10 tickets and work a shift (first car wash, June 2) • Joe Cotton Test Drive – each cheerleader required to bring in 10 drivers • 50/50 Raffle – at home games – each cheerleader and one parent/adult are required to sell raffle tickets at one game. • BHS Cheer Clinic – at the high school, cheer leader and adult registration and organization BHS Cheer Boosters 20

How is the money raised by the Cheer Boosters spent? • Last year we raised over $13,000 to support the squads • Stipend JV Coach • Clinics • Choreography – Homecoming and Competition • Scholarship • Gear for the Cheerleaders – shirts, sweats, bags • Year End Banquet • Other as needed support as agreed upon by board vote BHS Cheer Boosters 24

When do the Cheer Boosters meet? • First Tuesday of each month, 7pm at BHS or other locations at times • How do I get involved? • Come to a meeting and participate in planning, and supporting our squads • The agenda for each meeting as well as other pertinent information is planned to be posted on the cheer website, under the Boosters tab. http://www.bartlettcheer.com/BHS/Boosters.html BHS Cheer Boosters 25
