1. Britain and France were engaged in a geopolitical and economic rivalry during the 18th century. Identify the factors that contributed to this rivalry and assess the results for both countries over the period 1689- 1789

2. Introduction During the eighteenth many geopolitical and economic issues were causing conflict between Britain and France. The two countries were flourishing and both striving to emerge as the dominant force. The seven years war and different views in how to run a government resulted in controversies over land and trade, ultimately one country would come out on top.

4. Treaty of Paris The treaty of Paris signed by Great Britain, France and Spain with Portugal in agreement. They all agreed that Britain gained Canada and all French territory east of the Mississippi river The treaty marked the beginning of an extensive period of British dominance outside of Europe
