  2. Student’s descriptions • 5-6 years old in a class of 20. • SES – mostly middle class students. • 50% split between genders. • Cultural diversity – split up between Caucasian and African American. • Small amount of students on IEP.

  3. Cirriculum • Common Core State Standards for Mathematics – Kindergarten…. • “Solve addition and subtraction word problems, and add and subtract within 10, e.g., by using objects or drawings to represent the problem”

  4. Objective/goals • Given basic addition problems, the students will be able to solve these problems by demonstrating their understanding with at least 80% accuracy.

  5. Addition practice • Assuming the students have already been taught a lesson on addition in the past. • Have students come up to smartboard and play game. • Penguin Party Addition • Good addition practice for kindergarten students either at home, in learning stations, or in your morning routine on the smartboard. http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/mathgames/popup/popup_addition.htm
