  • NOTES=HE CAME UP WITH THE THEORY OF CONTINENTAL DRIFT BASED ON EVIDENCE COLLECTED FROM SIMILAR FOSSILS, ROCKS, CLIMATE, AND THE CONTINENTS SEEM TO FIT TOGETHER

CONTINENTAL DRIFT

  • DANCE STEP= HUG MOTION, THEN SEPARATE

  • NOTES= CONTINENTAL DRIFT STATED THAT THE CONTINENTS WERE ONCE TOGETHER INA SINGLE LANDMASS CALLED PANGAEA, THEN BROKE APART, AND HAVE SINCE DRIFTED TO THEIR CURRENT LOCATIONS.

  • NOTES=THE CONTINENTAL CRUST IS THICKER, MADE OF GRANITE, MOUNTAINS ARE HERE AND IT THE CRUST WE LIVE ON


Younger and older crust
YOUNGER AND OLDER CRUST

  • DANCE STEP=NEW CRUST=CENTER/CLOSER

  • OLDER CRUST= PUSH TO EDGES

  • NOTES=YOUNGER CRUST IS FOUND CLOSE TO THE MID-OCEAN RIDGE AND OLDER CRUST GETS PUSHED FAR AWAY FROM THE MID-OCEAN RIDGE TO THE EDGES
