  2. PCT e-Services Unit • Support for the following services: • PCT-SAFE • WIPO Certification Authority – digital certificate issuance and administration • ePCT private and public services • Priority Document Access Service (DAS) • Training and promotion

Upload of the PCT application package • (1) Creation of PCT application package using PCT-SAFE • Application documents attached to the request form • Signed with a digital certificate to create a Wrapped Application Signed Package (WASP) and saved locally • (2) Separate upload of the PCT application directly to the receiving Office • Open the application folder and copy the .zg1 file for upload to receiving Office’s e-filing service • Transmission receipt after submission • Upload function managed exclusively by the receiving Office • Examples of receiving Offices using a separate upload function • Australia (RO/AU), Canada (RO/CA), Israel (RO/IL)

  4. Electronic signatures for PCT e-filing • Alphanumeric or text string signature: /John Doe/ • Facsimile signature: scanned signature (.tif format) • Enhanced electronic signature: • Applied using a digital certificate • Required on the request form in order to upload the application package to the RO’s e-filing service

  5. WIPO digital certificates • Online enrollment: http://www.wipo.int/pct-safe/en/certificates.html • Requests processed within 1 business day • Installable on multiple PCs • Issued to individuals not to companies • Useful for paralegals and attorneys • Secure access to ePCT private services
