Meet Management Age Groups • Age: Individual Events Relay • 6 & U 25 yards 100 yards • 7&8 25 yards 100 yards • 9 &10 25 yards 100 yards • 11& 12 50 yards/ 100 yard IM 200 yards • 13& 14 50 yards/ 100 yard IM 200 yards • 15-18 50 yards/ 100 yard IM 200 yards • Swimmer must swim in 1 event in order to participate in either relay.

  4. Start Time • Meets start at 6:30pm • Home Team -Warm up 6:00 pm • Visitors – Warm up at 6:15 pm

  6. Officials Each team is responsible for providing its own proper officials and equipment. Coaches may not serve in any official capacity such as stroke judge, timer, scorer, or starter. Home Team: Visitors: • Two timers for each lane One timer for each lane • One time collector One scorekeeper • One ribbon writer One ribbon writer • Two stroke judges Two stroke judges • One starter • One clerk of course • One runner • One false start rope and workers

  7. Duties Stroke Judges: • The duties of the stroke judges are: • To disqualify swimmers who do not swim proper strokes or execute starts and turns in accordance with the current WWSA swimming rules. • The stroke judges must alternate at intermission during a meet. Timers: • There shall be three timers on each lane during meets. The home team shall furnish two timers for each lane and the visiting team shall furnish one timer for each lane. • The watch is started at the sound of the starter’s gun. It is stopped when the swimmer touches the wall in any way. • Times shall be recorded to the hundredths of a second of the three times clocked; the middle time shall be taken. In the event of one clock malfunctioning, the two times shall be averaged. Runner: • Each home team shall furnish one runner. The duties of the runner are: • Pick up the heat sheets from the time collector and take them to the scorer’s table. • Collect and DQ sheets from the stroke judges and take them to the scorer’s table.

  8. Duties Starter: • The home team shall furnish one starter, a false start rope and workers to man the rope for each home meet. • The start cadence will be • “Timers and judges ready… • Swimmers up … • Take your mark” and starting gun is fired. • If a swimmer false starts, the starter will fire twice and have the false start roped dropped. • In the event of a gun misfire, starter will ask swimmers to relax, step down and will begin by calling cadence. Scorekeeper: • Each team shall furnish one scorekeeper for each meet. Ribbon Writer: • Ribbons shall be awarded to all first, second and third place winners in all dual meets for individual events and first place only for relays. Ribbons shall be awarded to first, second, third fourth, and fifth place winners in the league meet for individual events, and to first second and third for relays.

  9. Heat Ribbons Winners of all heats ages ten and under will receive a heat ribbon in each individual event.
