  3. FRANCE France is the largest country of Western Europe: its total area is 551,695 km2. There are 65,530,000 inhabitants in this country and we also have territories overseas.

  4. The capital city of France is Paris, which is famous for the Eiffel tower !

  5. We also have a great regional diversity !

  6. National symbols On the French flag, there are 3 colors : blue, white and red. Our national anthem is “La Marseillaise”.

  7. Our currency The French currency is also the Euro.

  8. Our president Our new president is François Hollande.

  9. SAINT-MAUR-DES-FOSSES OUR CITY

  10. Location It is a city located in the southeastern suburbs of Paris, 7.3 miles from the center. It counts about 80 000 inhabitants. It is made of 8 districts: - the old Saint-Maur - Champignol - la Pie - la Varenne - les Mûriers - le Parc - Adamville

  11. The origins The city of Saint-Maur was born in 639. It owes its name to its Abbey built for Queen Nanthild, regent for her son Clovis II. The older park is the Abbey park.

  12. Advantages Saint-Maur-des-Fossés is served by four stations on the Paris express regional train. It is almost entirely surrounded by a loop of the Marne River, which is pleasant for a walk and sport activities.

  13. Architectural legacy The 12th-14th century St Nicolas Church is in the historical center of Saint-Maur.

  14. LE COLLEGE DU PARC OURSCHOOL

  15. Le collège Le Parc The collège le Parc is a junior high school located in Saint-Maur, with about 800 pupils aged 10 to 15 years old and 60 teachers. There are 7 classes for each grade.

  16. Equipment In Le Parc, we have : • A school restaurant • a library • 30 classrooms • a big school yard with a basketball ground • a gymnasium • 2 computer rooms

  17. The school library Books, magazines, and computers are available to allow pupils to do researches with the help of a «school library teacher»

  18. The artistic classes Our specificity ? The artistic classes, the “CHAM” section, that you can enter after a contest on condition that you can dance or practice an instrument quite well. These pupils have few hours less at school than the others.

  19. Sport facilities Near the school, there is a stadium and a swimming pool. They have access to them for their Physical education classes.
