  12. Models of Blended Learning

  13. Rotation of Face-to-Face and Flipped Model • Within a given course, students rotate on a fixed schedule between learning online and sitting in a classroom. • Involves a split in most cases between a remote site and onsite environments. • The teacher may utilize online learning on a case-by-case basis to supplement or remediate.

  15. Online Lab Programs that rely on an online platform to deliver the entire course but in a brick-and-mortar lab environment.

  16. Self-Blend Model Any time a student chooses to take one or more courses online to supplement their existing school catalog.

  17. Enhanced Online Model • Involves an online platform and teacher that delivers all curriculum. • Students can work remotely. • Sometimes optional or required face-to-face check-ins. • eSchool courses for credit require a proctored final exam for course completion.

  18. Examples of Blended Learning in Kenosha Unified Students from Ms. Shimon’s class at Reuther Central High School utilize My Big Campus for online collaboration. Watch a brief demonstration video: http://www.screencast.com/t/DI0diPb4eWUF

  19. Current High School Participation • KUSD currently has approx.: 6,750 active high school students. • eSchool currently serves approx.: 10%-12% of that population each year. • Each high school already has multiple courses that would meet this requirement. • Without any changes, at least 50%- 60% of high school students would inadvertently meet this requirement under current practices.
