  3. Proving Identities • When proving identities, the goal is to rewrite one side of the identity until it equals the other side

  4. Hints for Proving Identities • Work with the more complex side first • Any algebraic manipulation is valid as long as you don’t change the value • Multiply by 1, add and subtract the same #, etc • Convert all expressions to sines and cosines • Any formulas we’ve used in 6.1 or 6.2 can be used
