  3. The settlers decided to get revenge by attacking the Roanoke Indians but they attacked the friendly Croatoan Indian village by mistake.   5. The settlers had brought supplies with them onboard ship but these soon began to run out. Worse, the seeds they had brought with them for planting had been lost or had begun to rot.
