  1. Summary: Dovey Coe is a novel about a young tomboy who has been accused of murdering her enemy, Parnell Caraway, and her story of how to clear her name. Parts of a Story Made by: Student’s Name November 16th, 2011 http://livinlyfe1501.blogspot.com/2007/10/dovey-coe-synopsis.html

  2. Setting: Theme: Conflict: I believe the main theme throughout the story is that family is forever. All while the town’s people were making their assumptions and accusations, Dovey’s family believed her from the start and stayed by her side to the end. The story takes place in the mountains of Indian Creek, North Carolina. The main conflict amongst the novel is the hatred between Parnell and Dovey. The real conflict/climax happens when Dovey is found with his dead body and now faces murder charges. http://www.indiantravels.net/indian-geography.html Resolution: Characters: While in trial, Dovey’s brother Amos, who is hearing impaired, writes her a letter admitting to killing Parnell in her defense. The main characters include: Dovey, her brother Amos, her sister Caroline, her parents, the town sherriff, lawyer, and Parnell Caraway. http://erikbrewer.wordpress.com/2011/05/09/faith-in-jesus-and-the-family/
