  1. En.odmevi Ing. Petr Hermann, Ph.D. General Manager Schneider Electric Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina The global specialist in energy management

  2. Schneider Electric – the global specialist in energy management

  3. Energy Efficiency leader for G20 Jean-Pascal Tricoire, President and CEO of Schneider Electric, the spokesperson for the Working Group on Improving Energy Efficiency, G20 Business Summit in Seoul, 2010 “We, the members of the Working Group on Improving Energy Efficiency, believe improving energy efficiency is the best way to ensure energy security, limit greenhouse gas emissions, and insulate economies from the volatility of energy prices. We also believe larger capital investments are needed to push towards breakthrough technologies.”

  4. Energy efficiency expertise in Slovenia Full solution to save energy EE experts Projects execution Services Trained local partners EE embedded products & SWs Reference Talum, Revoz ... Commitment to society and environment Participation on EE initiatives Training for local partners, engineers...

  5. Energy EfficiencyThe quickest and most profitable diet to save money & the planet! Fast & profitable achievements possible on demand side 30% savings are available today short payback time (ex.: motor control 7-18 month) It works today! 30% savings available today! Brings improvement of competitiveness of local industry

  6. Examples from Slovenia - Talum Project context • Control of ventilation system Objective: Decrease energy consumption! Results • Decrease in power consumption for ventilation over 25% • On a yearly basis: 5 GWh of energy savings • The savings represent 4367 tons/year of coal consumption in average conventional thermal power plant or reduction of CO2 emissions for 1860 tons/year • Considerable noise decrease • Improved productivity due to lower start-up time • Payback time: 11 months

  7. Examples from Slovenia - Revoz Project context • Implementation of motors control in technology Objective: Decrease energy consumption! Expected results • Decrease in overall power consumption over 1-2% • On a yearly basis: 2 GWh of energy savings • The savings represent 1747tons/year of coal consumption in average conventional thermal power plant or reduction of CO2 emissions for 1860tons/year • Payback time: 9 months

  8. Up to 8% per year is lost without monitoring and maintenance program Up to 12% per year is lost without regulation and control systems 70% Efficient devices and installation Optimized usage via automation Energy Consumption Monitoring & Maintenance Energy EfficiencyIt is a continuous complex process! 1st part - Technology 1a) Low consumption devices, insulation, motor control, lighting control... Up-grades already working well 1b) Energy and power monitoring, integrated BMS... Up-grades only random Supporting programme from state is needed!

  9. : the architecture of efficiency

  10. Energy EfficiencyIt is continuous complex process! 2nd part – People management 5% could be achieved only by changing behaviour of people could be done by monitoring and asigned accountability to teams Continuous EE improvements programmes has to be launched Responsibility on each level (N, N-1 ...) Measurement of evolution (KPI dashboard) But savings could be lost quickly too Unplanned, unmanaged shutdowns of equipment and processes Lack of automation and regulation (motors, heating) No continuity of behaviours

  11. RenewablesSE leading supplier of energy management for renewables and the smart grid
