Location • Newly designed Green Teaching Building located directly behind Jefferson School in Pierce Park. • Elementary students' classrooms are co-located within Jefferson Elementary School.  • Students attend school in the classroom as well as the outdoors at a variety of venues.  • Students are involved with all-school activities such as Sports, Band, Orchestra, Scouts as well as many other School clubs and programs offered within Jefferson Elementary School.  http://www.foxriveracademy.org/

Visit log • November 14th 2011 • First Visit • Members= Ashley, Rachel, Maddie, Holly, and Kurt • Observed the class • Learned what kind of charter school they were • Explained the ACA to the kids • Talked with the teacher and student teacher about what they would like to change • Talked to the office lady and learned that we could not use the science spare work • space • Talked with the janitor about what was allowed to be done to the rooms and what wasn’t • Briefly talked with the principal about what we were doing and would like to have a

  10. Student Survey Comments • We need to have more rooms. • Very crowded. • I cannot always see the board when we are getting a lesson, mostly during math. • Windows! We need lots of windows.

  11. Teacher Survey Comments • Windows are needed; a lot of the environment has to do with provided programing/instruction, but the physical space has impact. The electrical devices are problematic in ease of use, sight for students, cords, etc. • The room is very cramped. Would be nice to have windows. A dry erase board would be much appreciated.
