  12. Joseph’s Life • Starts in a pit • He has a dysfunctional family • His father shows him great favoritism • Joseph is the center of attention • He tattles on his older brothers • He thinks he’s the center of the universe • God gives him a dream …ends up in a palace

  13. Joseph’s Brothers • Didn’t appreciate his dream • Decide to throw him in a pit • Sold him for 20 pieces of silver

  14. This Seventeen Year Old Boy Goes from being Mr. Privileged and center of the universe… To a slave in a foreign land!!

  15. The Lord Was With Joseph Instead of breaking him, this stuff makes him!! In the bad times, and in the good times, the Lord was with Joseph.

  16. Notice Joseph’s ResponsesTo Evil He survived He thrived He resisted He grew

  17. The Most Important Lesson Joseph believed that God’s sovereign control of all circumstances were meant for good!

  18. We Need to Remember “They meant it for evil, but God meant it for good.” “God meant it for good!” “God meant it for good!!” (Genesis 50:20)

  19. Romans 12:14Challenges Us “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.” NIV This is a command! Not a suggestion!!

  20. Matthew 5:44 “But I tell you; love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” NIV

  21. God is Calling To EachOne of Us… “Bless and do not curse.” Choose to forgive!
