  2. Our geography: HE NCEL HE NCEL is a workforce planning & education commissioning organisation for medical and healthcare professional education & training. We are a strategic stakeholder organisation responsible to our constituent organisations. At any one time we sponsor 10% of the clinical professional workforce. We commission from and quality assure university provision for our commissioned programmes

  3. Our purpose: Our mission “Delivering excellence in multi-disciplinary education, training and workforce development in response to current and future needs in order to provide the best possible outcomes and experiences for patients and people.”

  4. Our aim: Education Outcomes Framework Our priorities are to ensure: • Excellent education • Competent & capable staff • Flexible workforce responsive to research & innovation • NHS values & behaviours • Widening participation

Developing links with schools: Royal Free: Trust School Ambassadors who visit local schools to champion NHS careers UCLH: UCLH and Prince’s Trust will be hosting a 2 week programme called “Get into the NHS Programme” in June 2014. The programme aims to help participants to develop skills and gain work experience to provide a route into the NHS or other sectors Bart's Health: Work experience programme for school aged/leavers who are interested in a career in health Moorfields: Mentorship programme with local schools Homerton: Staff visit neighbouring schools for demonstrations and pupils come for a day at the hospital to gain an understanding of hospital services. UCLH/Kings/imperial Reach out for Healthcare Science 5-day funded work experience June/July for 300 year 10 students

  6. Nursing and Midwifery Degree Qualification A level or equivalent Secondment or direct entry 4 Fields of Nursing Practice Adult Mental Health Child Learning Disability
