  2. Today I will be able to: • make sense and persevere in solving real world and mathematical problems. • Apply previous knowledge from earlier mathematical standards. So that I can: answer real world problems from multiple standards. I will show I know it when my group can successfully complete the MCAS problems first with 100% accuracy in the Math MCAS Relay. 6.SMP.1

Language Objective • By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the language domains of reading and writing to communicate the academic math language of previously learned standards to solve real world mathematical problems. • They will show their understanding by verbally communicating and writing to solve real world math problems from previously learned standards with 100% accuracy in a MCAS review Relay game in their groups. • Academic Math Language Vocabulary: Geometric shapes, formula, rectangle, rectangular prism, trapezoid

  4. You will be competing in your team in a relay style race. You will send one person to the front to get your first problem. As you complete the problem (ALL STUDENTS MUST PARTICIPATE) you will send a different representative to check the problem with the teacher before moving on to the next problem. Your goal is to get through all the problems (or be the team to make it the farthest) by the end of the time. ALL teammates need to AGREE on their answer before submitting it.
