  1. 3 Basic Marketing Strategies Every Musician Must Know This digital age has made it easier than ever to create music and as a result, the music industry has become quite saturated. It is important to create good music, yes. I would say that 90% of any musician’s efforts should go to honing his craft and creating authentic material that they can believe in and be proud of. What is the rest of the 10% made of, you ask? Marketing. Yes, there I said it. The only way for any artist to stand out from the millions who are trying to make it big is create good quality work and market it well. Yes, 90% of a musician’s efforts should go to creating musical magic but believe you me, the 10% dedicated to a good marketing plan can make all the difference. Below are just some basic marketing strategies that can help you reach an even bigger audience. Build a Strong Online Presence Despite what you believe the music industry, like all other industries, are built on appearances. That is why it is important to establish strong media presence online. Almost everybody is on the internet, so we don’t have to explain why it’s so important to be on the following platforms: Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Soundcloud. More than that, you should have your own website. Complete with information about you, your music, news about you and other things your fans and people who might want to advertise your work might be interested in.

  2. Let’s talk about your website a little bit. Your website’s interface should be modern, easy to navigate and most of all, functional. It must have at least the following information about you or your band: 1. A news section that contains clips, features and tour schedules if you have any. Just basically anything new that might be happening with you. 2. A place to listen to and buy your music. 3. A place to sign up for your news letter 4. Links to other social media platforms you might be using Using social media platforms can be a free or cheap way to get your music heard by fans you otherwise would not be able to reach. It is also a great way to lead people to your website. If you took the time to create a great website, you will want to do that. Buy SoundCloud Plays In relation to your online media presence, another great way to get your music heard by more people is to buy Soundcloud plays. The more plays and listens you have on Soundcloud the higher up the list your page appears when people search for artists of your genre, for example. It’s an unorthodox way to get yourself out there but it’s proven to be effective. Buy soundcloud plays, you won’t regret it. Have a Monthly Newsletter You might be asking yourself, “A newsletter? Who reads newsletters?!” Apparently, everybody. From a sales point of view, sending monthly newsletters remains to be one of the best ways to engage with your followers and remind them about gigs you might have in the area, and new music and merchandise you’ve just released. If you don’t have a newsletter yet, create one, you will be surprised how quickly this translates to sales. And you want sales, right? For more information: https://www.instavisits.com/soundcloud
