  3. THE SCHOOL • Expert academic staff involved in consultancy and research. • Depth in practical coaching and applied sport science expertise • Excellent sport science facilities in the new HPC. • Specialist practical facilities both on and offsite.

  4. SPECIAL FEATURES Industry-informed degrees, recently updated. Laboratory equipment and sport facilities accessible for students to use inside and outside of curriculum delivery (new £1.9m extension to teaching facilities in 2010). All courses provide opportunities to engage with external partners (LSP, schools, elite clubs/athletes) to develop theoretical understanding and graduate ‘employability’ skills.

Student as Producer • Student as Producer emphasises the role of the student as ‘collaborators’ and ‘partners’ within the production of knowledge. • A process that engages students in real world situations, giving them responsibility for learning, which enhances students’ employability skills. • What does this mean to you as a University of Lincoln student?

Opportunities • Volunteered for “Off the Bench”; • Participated in an external research project; • Started a women’s cricket club; • Took a year out to coach disabled performers; • Broke a world record; • Raised £540 for charity; • Lobbied the local council to build a swimming pool; • Started my own coaching company;

  9. National Student Survey 2010/11 • Highly Rated in the NSS overall: one of the top universities for Sport for the past three years • ‘Balance between practical and theoretical work has been good. Availability of lecturers when needing advice or help with an issue has been excellent. Always willing to stop and help or point you in the right direction’. • ‘Great modules, well organised.
