  1. 7th GradeWorld History • Do Now: Complete the history survey you were given when you walked in the door. Complete the survey and stop when you get to number 10. Leave number 10 blank.

Agenda: August 27th, 2014 • Do Now: History Survey • What is Motivation- Students will describe in writing characteristics, examples, and a definition of what is Motivation, using complete sentences and supports - (Frayer Model, Modeling, Group Collaboration.) • Exit Ticket/ Check for Understanding

  3. Do Now: Pair and Share • Practice using the expectations in class • Turn and talk with a shoulder partner using a voice level of one to share your student survey. • Share one at a time with your partner. • Complete #10 on your survey- Example • L- Likeable • E- Elegant • A- Awesome • H- Humble

  4. Pop Quiz • Take out a sheet of paper • POP QUIZ Question: What are the MORE values here at Morey? Write them on your sheet of paper. Make sure your name is on the paper.

  5. Motivation • The word of the day is motivation. • Think about what motivates you. • Using your table group, complete the graphic organizer (Frayer Model) to describe the Characteristics, write examples, non examples • Use voice levels of 2 to complete this task.

  7. Exit Ticket • What are the MORE Values at Morey? How can you show MORE each day in class?- Answer the Exit Ticket on the back of your Frayer Model Organizer • Share Out!!!!!!!

  8. Enrichment: Ethnic Studies • Do Now: Use the notecard you were given to complete the following task: • Write down what come to mind when you hear the word: Ethnic? If you don’t know what Ethnic means, write down what you think it might be.

  9. What is my Ethnicity:Why is it important? • Use the other side of your notecard to write down what you know about your own ethnic background. Use complete sentences • Example: My grandmother was from Pueblo Colorado, and She was full blood Native American. My Dad was mixed with Black and Native American, and my Mom is from Kansas. She is German and Black. - I would consider myself mixed, but in certain situations, I feel like one race more than the other

  10. Exit Ticket: • We study different Ethnic groups through this enrichment. We will focus on the history of several ethnic groups, as well as research our own ethnicity. • We are all different and that is a good thing. We need to respect each other’s difference in order for learning and growth to take place in this class.

  11. Tomorrow- Article: ETHN • Answer the question: What is Ethnic Studies? Why is it important that we study culture, race, history and ethnicity in our society today? • Come prepared with materials on time.
