  1. VALUE OF THE BIBLE “How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with you” (Psalm 139:17-18).

  2. How Do We Measure True Value? • In 1987 a Guttenberg Bible sold for $5.4 million. • Alexandrian Manuscript is priceless. • It is a storehouse of knowledge and wisdom. • A guide for a good life (most of our mistakes come from ignoring God’s cautions). • It’s easy to overlook many areas of use.

  3. Rich in Spiritual Nourishment • When your faith is “hanging by a thread…” • The Word of God is “milk” – I Peter 2:2. • “Solid food” – Heb. 5:12-14 • “Living water” – John 4:10; 7:37-39. • “Bread of life” – John 6:51; Matt. 4:4. • The only source of nourishment for the soul.

  4. A Message for All Our “Moods” • Are you discouraged? – Elijah, Rom. 11:2 • Weak? – Prov. 28:1; 24:16. Look at Gideon or David. • Joyful – celebrate – Rom. 12:15; I Tim. 6:17 • Sorrowful – comfort • In despair – hope • To the dying – a message of life • Jesus our friend – The Lily of the Valley - 544

  5. All Our Needs • For our non-physical being – God to worship and develop a relationship with. • Our sinful being – How to obtain reconciliation. • Our suffering being – the Great Physician. • Our intelligent being – instruction for improvement – 2 Tim. 3:16-17.
